Wow! I haven’t written a post in a while!

I have been so busy trying to promote SimplyLively on Instagram @thebowshop, that i’ve forgotten how much i love to blog.

I recently released my summer bow collection called “Sweet Summer”! I really love this collection because i’ve used some of the cutest fabric print ever! I had been collecting “sweet” prints for a while, and now that they are out for everyone to see…i can’t stop talking about them!

I really hope you will check out my online shop, and look around. You don’t have to buy any (unless you want to :)) just look around and tell a friend…that’s enough for me!

Happy Fourth of July! Possible outfit post coming soon!

LOVE,

SimplyLively

 SIMPLY LIVELY’s "Project:Haiti"
How it started:
SimplyLively was asked by Carlos Buitrago to create some bows for a trip he was taking to Haiti in May. As much as he wish he could, Carlos mentioned that he couldn’t afford to get a bow for each of the girls in the orphanage he was visiting. SimplyLively, just could not not make a bow for each girl, but there was a problem, she couldn’t afford it either. So, they decided to join forces and turn this into an amazing project, which included involving people like you!
What is it:
SimplyLively is teaming up with “The Mission Haiti” to create a project that would bring joy & love to 25 girls in Haiti who live in a Christian orphanage called Cabarate Baptist Children’s Home.
Project:Haiti is a month long project where people who purchase a handmade felt bow package from the SimplyLively’s Project:Haiti collection will automatically be donating a handmade felt bow package to a little girl in Haiti.
Our Goal:
All 25 girls in the Orphanage will receive a package.
How it works:
Once you buy one of the bow packages from the Project:Haiti Collection, another bow package will be made, packaged, and sent to a little girl in Haiti. The Mission Haiti will be traveling to Haiti, this may (2012), and with them will hopefully go 25 bow packages to give out to the girls in the orphanage they are visiting. The project will run for ONE MONTH ONLY(April 1-May 1). With your help and support we can make this project a successful one.
What’s in the package:
For you(customer): Pack of two handmade felt bows (color/size of choice). It will be handmade especially for you! You will receive a photo of the bow you purchased, as well as the bow you are donating.
Because SimplyLively wants this project to be as personal as possible, you will get to choose the bow you want to donate as well! It could be the same size/color as yours, or a different one.
You will also have the opportunity to write a small note (using ten words or less) to the little girl that is getting your bow. I will personally print out each message and attach it to the bow.
Finally, you will receive a note/certificate guaranteeing that your bow WILL BE delivered to a girl in Haiti.
For her: She will receive the handmade felt bows that you selected for her. Along with the bow, they will get your note, as well as a small tag attached to the bow that reads “Jesus loves you.”
We are using this opportunity to share the gospel with these precious girls. There is something SimplyLively has set out to do, and that is to always share the love of Christ with others and glorify God in everything she does, even through something as simple as a bow!
How will I know:
I know a lot of people doubt projects like this, as well as myself. Therefore, I have decided to personally mail you a picture of the little girl wearing the bow you selected for her (once they come back from the trip).  Yes, this is more work for SimplyLively, but there’s nothing she wants more, than to make you feel 100% sure about this project.
How can i purchase a Bow package?
Visit SimplyLively’s Online Shop and click on the felt bow package. Once you have purchased the package, SimplyLively will email you asking for package details, such as size, color, and your own personal note! So make sure you check your email!
(if you live in Miami, and would like the package to be delivered to you because you personally know me, please enter the code “3OH5” at checkout to receive free shipping)
How else can I help after i purchase a bow package?
You can definitely help us by spreading the word about SimplyLively’s Project:Haiti. Tell all your friends, post it on all types of social media you use. Also, LIKE Simply Lively on Facebook and follow the project on Instagram @SimplyLively & @project_Haiti .Finally, you are more than welcome to grab the project:haiti logo and post it on your profile! Hey! Happy Leap Day!!

I know i haven’t posted on my blog in a while. I’ve been trying to focus on my shop, and introducing some new things for spring. So please be on the look out! :)

There’s a sneak-peek of one of the prints i’ll be using to create something new on my facebook page. I encourage you to check it out and like my page :)

With that being said, I would NEVER reblog something, unless it’s from one of the most talented people that i know, and that is my wonderful boyfriend. This past Tuesday, we did a mini photo shoot to try out something he had been wanting to do for a while. So i highly encourage you to check out his facebook page, and enjoy the great things he has posted, and will continue to post.

Love,

NEW Bows & Valentine’s Day Idea

Hii!

Just wanted to post some new bows that i have for sale in my shop.

Here’s an order i did for Melissa Barbieri :)

these were for Ashley Jensen

This is an idea i found over two years ago. I made it for Andy for valentine’s day a few years back.

It is candy sushi! When i first saw it i thought it was perfect for Andy. He LOVES candy & sushi, so why not combine the two?

You can check out MommyKnowsBest blog, where she gives step by step detail on how to make candy sushi.

You will need to make your own Rice Krispies- Which is super easy to make!! Here’s a recipe (add more marshmallows, so the rice krispies are not as stiff).

Get some fruit roll ups & gummy bears

Because it’s valentine’s day, get a Chinese take out box. Which you can find at Micheal’s or Target to place your sushi in there. It would be super cute to create a menu greeting card to go along with this.

Because i made this for andy over two years ago, when i was not as much into photography as i am now, i didn’t get any good pictures of the candy sushi i made for him.

Just be creative and have fun with it!

TOP Picks of the week!

1. I love this cute little baby laying in a guitar case! Super creative way to photograph a baby. There are more pictures on My little mustache

BEWARE: cuteness!!

2. I made a valentine’s wreath earlier in the week (check previous post) to decorate my house a little bit for the month of February. Here’s another great cheap idea for a valentine’s decor. It is a heart garland  made with pretty lace ribbon and scrapbook paper! Great idea to leave loved ones a cute message. Check out the DIY on the The Pretty Blog

3.My friend Melli, posted this pic on instagram. I though it was so cute, little mustache clips! Some one gave them to her as a gift but i found them online at Perpetual Kid along with other things that help you “bring out your inner child!”

4. My mint bow! I created this bow this week for a customer’s girlfriend. He just told me one of her fave colors was mint! I am loving the mint color more and more lately! I have this bow for sale on my shop, but i only have about two left, since i don’t buy a lot of the same fabric. So order before it’s gone :)

5. I am finding more and more pictures of outfits with over the knees socks…and i just love the look! I bought some at forever21 this week, and my boyfriend and I had a fun short photoshoot this week. I will probably post the pics next week. But seriously, i love this Pretty Snappy outfit. What’s even more awesome about this outfit is that its 100% thrifted! Yes!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy First day of February!

Yay! Its February! I wanted to start the month in a BIG way! So decided to create my own valentine wreath to hang in my house.

1. I’ve had this idea for a while, the problem was finding a wreath. I missed the after christmas sale, so finding a simple wreath was turning out to be harder than expected. I was even thinking of what i could use to create a wreath…that is until i thrifted this beauty! i loved how it looked. I was deciding if i should spray paint it white or not…but i just really loved how it looked already. So i kept it just how i found it.

2. I found these really long fake flowers that easily fold, and stay folded. I figured these would be great to wrap around the wreath, I found them at the dollar store, best place to find holiday fake flowers.

3. Find all your leftover felt or fabric.

4. Cut out some fun heart shapes, different colors work best. Also cut out letters to create a quote.

5. Find something you want to place in the wreath. I decided to make a cute little love owl, who receives love letters in the mail from her owl boyfriend who lives far away. Yes, i created a whole story…haha.

6. Attached a big heart to the wreath using yarn. This will allow the “heart sign” to hang (see picture below)

Here’s the final product :)

(last two pictures taken with my i-touch)

Enjoy! Have fun creating a February wreath!
